Golden Retriever Enthusiast And Owner Turns To Interwebs In An Attempt To Understand The Doggos' Infatuation With Tennis Balls

Hey pals, hold up and let us tell you- it's like tennis balls and Golden Retrievers were destined to go together like peanut butter and jelly. The combination is simply a match made in doggo heaven, and that fact is abundantly apparent. Golden Retrievers have this crazy amazing sense of playfulness in their DNA. They're like the party animals of the dog world, always down for a good time! And when they set their sights on a tennis ball, or two, or three, they know that good times are imminent. 

And, let's not forget about their love for fetching stuff. These pups have a natural instinct to retrieve things, probably dating back to their hunter ancestors. So, when you chuck that tennis ball into the great wide open, it's like their doggy mission in life – retrieve that ball, bring it back, repeat! These playful sweethearts love getting their paws on tennis balls, and who are we to deny them of something that they love?

They're the perfect size, shape, they have an interesting smell and texture and give just a little bit when they do the random super hard molar bite down. AND SOMETIMES YOU CAN JUST FIND THEM ANYWHERE!! Really, though, that goldie is impressive with all the ballies in their mouth. Mine were never that interested in ballies.

    Font - fool_scold 14 days ago Our golden is obsessed. We stopped letting him have actual tennis balls, though... he chews the felt off and eats it, which is no-bueno. Now he gets orange 'Chuck-It" brand balls that are very solid, and he can't chew them up. He falls asleep with the ball in his mouth sometimes. I took him on a two mile walk once, and he carried one in his mouth the entire time.

    Font - that-bro-dad. 14 days ago Yep. We have taught ours that "tennis balls are outside toys" and he knows what that means. If he wants to hold onto his tennis balls (he also likes to carry more than one), then he can stay outside as long as he wants. If he wants to come in, he has to drop them. Sometimes we have a dog sitter and when they send pictures, I see Gus inside with a tennis ball and I know he tricked them. He knows better. Haha. He has recently learned that dryer balls are perfectly
